CAT-III & CAT-IV Inspection Services

Category III and IV (CAT-III & CAT-IV) inspections are critical to maintaining the structural integrity, safety, and performance of drilling and hoisting equipment used in oil & gas operations. These inspections are conducted in accordance with API RP 8B and other international standards, focusing on detecting fatigue, wear, corrosion, and mechanical damage.

Our experienced and certified inspectors perform detailed examinations to ensure your equipment is fit for service and compliant with industry regulations.

  • 1. Drilling Mast and Substructure

    • Structural inspection and load path assessment to detect cracks, deformations, and corrosion.
  • 2. Travelling Blocks

    • Inspection of sheaves, bearings, and frame integrity to ensure smooth hoisting operations.
  • 3. Crown Block Sheaves

    • Evaluation of groove wear, alignment, and sheave rotation to prevent failure at height.
  • 4. Drilling Equipment (Power & Manual Slips, Casing Slips,     Power & Manual Tongs, etc.)

    • Includes power and manual slips, casing slips, power tongs, and manual tongs—inspected for operational safety and wear.
  • 5. Hoisting Equipment (Elevators, TDS, Drilling Hook, etc.)

    • Such as elevators, Top Drive Systems (TDS), and drilling hooks—checked for stress, alignment, and mechanical reliability.
